Smoking Ribs

To anyone hankering a new rub, John Henry’s Texas Pig Rub is so far the best rub I’ve found for all things pork.
I've been using Emiril's Rib Run. Is it comparable or better than that? Emiril's can be hard to find. I also throw a clove of garlic in the coals occasionally and it really makes a difference in final taste to me.

Might compare the ingredients to see. John Henry’s is pretty sweet

My basic rub for pig baked, roasted, smoked or grilled is plain jane, hell it'd probably work on fried chops too.

Plain measured by eye mix of
salt, coarse ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, ground coriander, paprika, pinch of thyme & rosemary. (You can measure amounts of spices & add/subtract spices to taste)

I put in a capped shaker shook around to combine mixture, then take cap off n shake mix onto pork n rub in, then add a decent coat of brown sugar and let sit a bit to meld & soak in.

Pig likes sweets, that's why it gets a decent coat of brown sugar.

Can coat the pig in sweet & sour sauce, then add the spice mix n brown suger too.
