I just received an order of Freedom Munitions 9mm 147gr x-treme HP. I wanted to test the expansion of the projectile so I shot a round through 2 1 gal. water jugs and backstopped by a trash dumpster. It went through the jugs and left a pretty good dent in the dumpster. I have never seen a result quite like this before. I suspect most of the expansion was caused by the backstop, but still it's pretty unusual. I'll really need more testing, but I just thought I'd post the results. I'm amazed by how well the jacket stayed together with the lead. I don't have a scale to see if the bullet lost any mass. If it would perform this way in all media, it would be pretty impressive.
