This should be of interest to many of us

My question is. Besides the agricultural part what did this bill really do for hunting. It was already a free for all on pigs.
You always had to get all the special exemptions and permits to kill hogs. They are treating hogs almost like a game animal; but every other state with feral hogs you’re allowed to just shoot the piss out of them without all the silly money making schemes.

When I was hunting then 8 to 10 years ago. It was a free for all. The permit at night was free. The license during deer seasons was there. But after that pigs were free game. Pigs where concerned a nuisance animal

Afaik,

there is no "season" on them, open to hunting year around, all have to have is a hunting license.

Oklahoma is like the only state that requires all that shit to kill hogs, a hunting license and a permit to use thermals? It’s not free. If you’re been going out killing hogs Willy Nilly and not paying your dues to the state, you’re illegal. This bill removes all that shit as it should instead of trying to make a buck. I figured people would be happy about it

According to someone I know in the legislature, this bill made it out of committee, but didn't make it to the floor.

Why you might ask; because politicians are full of shit, politics is shit and the state capital is a cesspool.

The guy that ran the bill isn't liked by the RINO's or the Dems, so his bill isn't going to see a floor vote, because the people that don't like him can't let him have any wins. It's as simple as that.

Least you forget, when you wonder why good things can't get done, that is the reason.

The bill passed out of committee 12-0. I don't understand all the procedures involved in it getting a floor vote. What is keeping it from getting a vote on by the full senate?

Like @jakeman said, Uniparty and money. If it goes to the floor, they will be voting to get rid of probably millions of dollars of revenue. Basically, if they vote no, they have a high chance of getting primaried; if they vote yes, they lose a lot of money they can embezzle. It's a no-win for the Uniparty. So if they keep it off the floor, it stays in limbo for eternity.

Yes I understand all that. I guess I should have been more specific. I am wondering about the who and how it is being prevented from a vote. Why even put bills through a committee if their recommendations mean nothing. I'm going to call my Senator this AM.

My friend laughed and said "tell your friend he's 100% correct." They said there were 3 parties at the capital; the far progressive left, conservatives and the uniparty. The uniparty won leadership in the senate by a 20-19 vote. The uniparty controls the senate in the OK legislature. RINO's hold the majority of the seats and leadership. There are very few true conservatives in the OK senate.

Leadership decides what bills get heard. I think my friend told me about 1/2, maybe less of the bills that came out of committee will be heard in the senate by leadership. Nothing that reduces government or fees is getting heard. By contrast, conservatives control the house. Almost all the bills that came out of committee will be heard on the floor, but as long as the uniparty controls the senate smaller government, fewer fees and tax cuts are only a distant hope.

McIntosh. As usual all I get is a leave your name and number and well get back to you. Tried calling Deevers as well. Same story.

Contact your senator, contact Deevers and most importantly contact leadership. I'm sure Deevers' office can provide you all the numbers.

All politics are local folks. Find out where your state senator stands on these type issues and if they are not on your side or if they are a RINO, get involved and get them beat in the primary. That's what we did in our district. My senator wasn't just a RINO, she was a progressive liberal that changed affiliation just to run. She was an AOC liberal behind closed doors. Rabid. Her most ardent supporters and donors were all rabid, drooling progressives. She talked a good game in public, but her voting record said otherwise. Despite her running attack ad after attack ad on her opponent, making up criminal records on her opponent and spouse out of whole cloth, we just stuck to the voting record and won by a nice margin. She had an R after her name but she was no more a Republican than Kamala Harris. There's no way to prove it, but I'd bet my house she voted for Harris in the last election. Most of her supporters did.

Leadership killed this bill, because they don't like the conservative that ran it, and it reduced fees and made government smaller. They ain't gonna be made to put a no vote on that in public where they can be found out. So, it gets turned over and never sees the floor.

Find out where your senator stands. Guide yourself accordingly. Just because they have an R after their name, it doesn't mean they're really a Republican. If the Republican Party in this state had any balls they'd expel those bastards and force them to run as independent or democrats, which is what they are.

Deevers is from here. there are quite a few folks here that are upset with him...IDK why. They won't say, but it probably has to do with not toeing the party line or something. A lot of these Republicans are neocons and they still think like big gov dems and they teach their kids neocon ways.

What I heard was he's a little too far right for most people. Just what I heard. May be true, maybe not. I can tell you leadership doesn't like him. They don't like mine either. Que será, será. I give a fuk, what leadership likes. Far as I'm concerned they're the enemy. If they support it I'm probably gonna be against it.

This will blow your dress up a little; Stitt called a meeting with the true conservative senators to ask what they needed his help on. Well, he had recommended this leader in the senate, and a few of them called him out on that. They're really frustrated. I can tell you that for a fact. Can't get shit done. Same ole same ole. More fees, more hidden taxes and bigger government.

My senator tried to get Stitt's EO prohibiting state departments from hiring lobbyists codified into law. No joy. Can't get it even heard. It's all bullshit.

edited for clarity, because I'm kinda rattle brained.
