Berger VLD Hunter's or Elite Hunter's pushed at a decent speed placed high shoulder has been money since they've been in my rifles. I tend to push bullets a little harder so that could be a plus.I know both will kill deer I haven’t personally killed one with a .308 but have seen other people kill with it. I have always used 270,243,6.5 creedmoor, occasionally other calibers. I just didn’t know about things like killing power. Every deer I have ever shot with 243 or 270 either dropped or only went about 20 yards didn’t know about the 308
Since getting busted up from head to toe in the 13' wreck, shooting one of my compounds more than a quiver or so I get a bit of pain in my broke "not repaired" wrists & neck/spine where nine fractured/broke (now "healed" says the doc) vertibre are.On opening day, October 1, I’m taking my crossbow because I’m not a law breaker like the rest of y’all. Fucking criminals!
What kind of results? What bullet?308 last year, 270 year before that, 30-30 year before that, and so on.
It is fun getting them all out and seeing what they do. Last year the results with the 308 were devastating.
My last 3 rifle seasons have been .308, 30-06 and 30-06. I might get another caliber setup and give it a try. I’d really like to get one with my Winchester 94 or Marlin 336.308 last year, 270 year before that, 30-30 year before that, and so on.

Was a 70s model Winchester 94 three years ago I got my best buck to date.My last 3 rifle seasons have been .308, 30-06 and 30-06. I might get another caliber setup and give it a try. I’d really like to get one with my Winchester 94 or Marlin 336.
I know the deer will be just as dead with whichever they were shot with same goes with all the other fucking calibers I was asking which everyone preferred if they preferred one over the other because myself I haven’t ever hunted with a 308 so I wouldn’t know personally how it performedI took a pole of hundreds of deer, both small White Tales and Mule deer and the results were unanimous, they all preferred being shot with a 308. Now I must admit this survey was conducted after being shot so the ones that ran off were not asked. One very important result of the survey was that, all preferred 308 over 270, but they all preferred the 270 over Dodge, Ford, or Chevy trucks. Another head scratcher was very few could tell much difference between 30-30, 30-06, 270, 308, or belted magnums. Once again this pole only applies to the ones laying there.
