I'm reminded of a saying Col. Cooper had for such things... "An unnatural preoccupation with inconsequential increments". There are plenty of good 7mm s that launch bullets in and around this velocity level, don't really need another flavor, but take that for what it's worth as I'm not a "long range guy". I can shoot well enough, and I've won a few of these blue steel ranch shoots, but I don't stay up on it, and I'm not really into it. 308 and 300 WM always did everything I needed.
I haven't watched the video yet or read up on it (I think I've had 5 emails from influencers about it) but having a round that can't be reloaded didn't fair well for Remington and Sig.
Remy Warren's email said it was claiming a 170 class bullet @3k from a 20". Pretty sure I can get close to or match that with the 7PRC if I had some Reloader 26 or used N570?
It will be interesting to see how well it does. Federal tends to do things better than Winchester and Browning so...
Read a little about it, sounds good, but not enough to buy rifle & reloading components to replace my 7remmag.
Kinda like the 360buckhammer I was interested in, I shot one, it was pretty decent but & $1k+ for rifle & reloading components made me just want to stick with my 45/70.
same as the 6.506, $400+ for the barrel assembly, when for a few hundred more I can buy a basic 6.5creed rifle.
Here is another good video on it. I stand corrected on reloading the cases. Joseph claim's they averaged around 6 loadings before they had split necks. That said, I would be money those cases are double or triple the cost of match brass. Maybe not?
I have never hunting Elk, Moose or bigger game like that. I'd love to one day, but the round is really not a giant leap over a good 20" 7 PRC. I doubt I'd ever jump on it.

I would say that was a good decision. the 45-70 will be around long after the .360 fades off if it does. I love mine, but it's a 150 yard deer killer at best. I can't see taking game past that. The 45-70 out performs it sub or super. I bought mine for a very specific purpose and it fits really well. It's weird and I identify with it.
For hunting purposes, my 30-30, 270 Win, or 308 will do the job just fine for deer. I now have the opportunity for elk hunting on a regular basis, and I plan on sticking with my 30-06. I’m not near as knowledgeable as some of you guys, but I don’t see a need for another new caliber in my world.
The premise of the this round is +/- 3,000fps out of a 20” barrel on a non-magnum long action 0.470 bolt face. It’s being marketed to back country hunters and those who use cans when hunting. Personally I don’t see an extra 4” of barrel length being an issue on an elk or sheep hunt. I understand if you want to run a can and want a shorter barrel and not sacrifice speed with a shorter barrel. With most rifles, you won’t see its best potential unless you’re reloading and I don’t know if this round is using some type of blended proprietary powder or an off the shelf powder. The factory ammo had such high ES/SD it only had a 25% hit probability at range. This could be due to something inherent with the alloy in the case or maybe it’s just Federal ammo.
I would like to see how fast it could push a 190gr in a 26/27” barrel

I've taken game with it, no better or worse than any other caliber I've taken game with, it does have a lot more "kick" to the shoulder using my 425gr ranchdog bullet hunting load, which powerwise really isn't needed for deer or hog sized game.
I just don't have a 35cal rifle and was intrested with the 360, after shooting one & crunching the numbers the worth of want isn't going to fill the need spot.
As I posted above the 7mmbackcountry doesn't provide enough to add to/replace my 7remmag.
