The longer I live the more I slide over into the Keith camp. Inertia has a quality all its own, particularly in the realm of lethal penetration. Coupled with a slippery projectile it seems to have some overlooked benefits. This came across my feed the other day and presents an interesting exercise in ballistic intersectionality . It was interesting to see the distances the 212 will expand at. Also it's ability to be used in a SAAMI spec chamber if you have the right twist.

I was kind of surprised that it was less than a mil difference in drop at a grand vs the 300 WSM. Not bad for the difference in round count out of a pound of powder. Creates quite a lot of potential for the languishing long actions in the wild.
