I’ll be honest, the diamondbacks keep me from looking much. I did buy a new pair of snake boots last year so I feel a little more comfortable about it. How about sheds? Anybody found any yet? I’ve still got bucks with their antlers on camera.

I walked several miles of shed and morel ground Wednesday. Didn’t find any of either. The soil looked pretty dry. These rains should help I’d think.

The ones I found last month were not morels they were oysters

I have looked a couple of times in my spot, but I knew it was too dry and cold so far. We got about 1.3" of rain here so I'm going to give it a few days to warm up and hope the sunshine gets the ground temps. up and maybe they'll get started.

Experts say soil temps of 50+ with daytime temps in the 60s to 70s. This upcoming week should meet those requirements nicely.

5 of us prowled for about 45mins this evening. Picked 30. Left several small ones. Morels 2024 has begun here.
