Three of my latest additions. From top to bottom we have a Hogue Counterstrike, Field Ethos/Ministry of Defence Edition; MKC Tactical Battle Goat; and a Fenix E06R.

Ministry of Defence is Christian Craighead’s organization. You may know him better as Obi-Wan Nairobi—he was the 22 SAS operator who basically single-handedly defeated a terrorist takeover of a hotel in Kenya because he was in the right place at the right time and ran to the sound of the gunfire. The shield on the handle and the Blackbeard logo on the blade are both from Ministry of Defence. The blade steel is CPM 20CV; the knife chassis it aluminum, and the show-side scale is G10.

The Battle Goat is one of two variants (the other being the Wargoat) of the Montana Knife Company’s Speedgoat released under their MKC Tactical brand. The main differences are that the MKC Tactical variants are made from slightly thicker stock, they have G10 scales (the Speedgoat has a paracord wrap), and they’re Cerakoted black Magnacut (the Speedgoat is mirror-polished Magnacut). The Battle Goat has the hooked pommel, and the Wargoat has a finger ring (a-la the karambit). The Battle Goat’s Kydex sheath comes from the factory with an Ulticlip.

The Fenix E06R is a cool little flashlight. I don’t have the specs handy, but it has four light intensity settings (up to 700 lumens, IIRC), a red laser, and a UV light. It also has an LED ring around the main light button that’s also controlled by the main light button. Tap once to get the battery level or double-tap to get various displays on the light ring (circling multi-colored ring, fade-in/-out red and blue, flashing red, flashing altering red and blue). About the only thing I don’t like about it is that the buttons are too easily activated, so more than one I’ve found the interior of my pocket brightly illuminated or lasered, resulting in a dead battery once. (Fortunately, I keep an Olight Baton 3 in its charging case in another pocket, so I’m not super worried about it being dead when I need it.)
