Top Sling adapter

I had two of these at one time. It let's you turn your standard sling into a patrol sling. Supply use to pass them out. One went somewhere in the 90s and the other is in a box...I saw it about 8 years ago so now I have to dig. Anyone seen or used one? Anyone have one and don't know what it is?

Seen them never used on. Our guys just looped the sling around the front sight tower, the vertical part. Also some used 550 cord to wrap around the hand guard through the sling swivel to keep it in place. Never needed that on my M-14
