During my last haul of magnum primers, I picked up a box of Remington 9 1/2 Mags. They are supposed to be one of the lightest magnum ones made from what I have read. Very close to a standard LRP. Most of the 6.5 PRC loads I'm seeing are calling for a 210M or BR2. I'm running low on 210M's and have a hungry .308 to feed. I loaded up a ladder test using the 9 1/2M's and will test them out. Just looking for anyone with real world experience good or bad with them.

My thought was, this is a hunting rig pushing a 156 EOL with Retumbo and a little hotter primer might be beneficial in cold.

Little big of searching has a few positives results but nothing negative that I have found.

Thanks in advance

Idk,

never used Remington primers so couldn't compare to what I use.

My first ladder test ended at 2930 with the 156 EOL and the 9 1/2M with no pressure. I'm going to run another one up. I had two flat spots and one node 4 FPS apart that hit the same hole around 2870.

Really wanting to hit that 3k mark and a good node if possible.

Basically, nothing erratic so far and no major spikes.

Just to update, I'm at 100 plus with this 6.5 PRC and load. SD's have been very low and consistent. Hard to ask for more from a primer. I'm still waiting to do some cold weather testing with them.
