Who do you guys suggest I ask about having a new 700 action blueprinted/trued or whatever? I guess the guy I was going to use closed his business and I don't know of anyone else still around. Seems like all the gunsmiths I liked and trusted all have passed or retired, and since I don't require them that often, I never found a replacement for those. So basically, I need a new gunsmith.

The last local smith I used was cloverleaf precision out of Yukon. The pricing was reasonable and the work was well done. They didn’t do any custom rifle work for me, but they do it. They may be worth a try?

The only guy I knew that I thought did that work around here was Jim Brown. I haven’t talked to him for at least a couple years. @KurtM or @JCann might know someone

Baldwin might be closed. Paul Brown of Wildcat Precision is said to do a good job too, he is in Edmond somewhere. I don't know him so that is just word of mouth.

If you’re planning on blue printing your action then I assume you’re going to need a barrel installed due to action threads being recut?

I created this on another forum

I just copied this list and am posting another thread attributable to you, so we don’t have to give them traffic.

Steve Baldwin at Mechanical Accuracy was the guy I was planning to use, but google says he has closed permanently. I will still try to call him on Monday, but I don't have high hopes of him doing any work. Which is a shame, he did some work for me on a few jobs and both reasonable and did a great job. However, it's been a few years since I've done any business there.

I will look into Brown if Baldwin is truly closed.

Yes, I got a deal on a 700 in a caliber I don't have any use for and so I was planning on swapping out a new barrel.
