I'm wondering if a thermal optic will display an IR laser sight beam? Seems like it would, but would it get lost in the thermal signature of your target like a hog or coyote?
I am just guessing, but I don't think it will unless the ir beam is substantially hotter than ambient temp. I guess I'm curious why you would need a "lazer" when your thermal would have an aiming index of some kind. Maybe you are thinking of a thermal scanning device? Not a weapons mounted thermal?

It was just basic curiosity. I saw where Eurooptic had some IR and visual laser sights on sale for half price and that got me to wondering how they would function together. My thermal imager uses a clamp on mount to the bell end of the scope objective. It can be adjusted to the crosshair POA, but I question its repeatability. I though maybe an IR laser could be used to confirm the aim point. Now that I think about it, I don't remember noticing my security cameras night time IR illuminators showing up in my thermal, so you're probably right.
