Tikka Roughtec Ember

After breaking the barrel in, I only got to 40 rounds before I called it a day. I have another 60 to fire form, but so far I cannot believe how accurate this rifle is.

This was just my fire forming load. A 168 ELD-M over a middle weight charge of IMR 4064 at 2.800" in Alpha OCD brass.

Very nice shooting. I would be interested to know if the barrel seems a little slow when compared to other rifles. My rifle is.

They may be out there but I haven’t see one yet that didn’t shoot good. If someone has a Tikka that doesn’t shoot good, chances are they’re a terrible shot. My 20” T3 CTR is stupid accurate.

I will bring out a few rounds of .308 I have loaded with data from my 20" and run them over the chrono and see. I started at 2460 and ended with the last few shots around 2520, so it is speeding up.

I agree with you on that. I have one other Tikka in 6.5 and it just flat out shoots. I haven't pushed it past 550, but it holds tight. I have a buddies Ember in 6.5 PRC I'm also working up a load for and that rifle shoots like a freaking dream.

On a side note, have you ever seen an almost blued or blue sheen in your barrel? I have this blue sheen in the first 10" of the barrel.

My barrel is more like a cerakote finish. Every thing looks good on it.

On a side note, I can’t recommend this enough. If you want a really good factory trigger, get this, https://www.mountaintactical.com/shop/tikka-sako-trigger-spring . A YoDave trigger spring also does the same thing

I have one in mine and it’s been a safe, rock solid 1.5lb pull. After I put it in and set the weight I banged the stock several times trying to get an AD and never could
