Kind of neat affordable pickup

PHEVs and “range extender” BEVs can generally run electric-only until the batteries get low, then they’ll kick in the ICE, but I don’t know of any that will run on the ICE until it gets low on fuel then switch to electric. That’s kinda contrary to the purpose of hybrids, so I wouldn’t expect to find any that run that way, but who knows.
My Jeep Wrangler is a PHEV. It has three options. You can start off in electric for the first 23-25 mi. then the ICE will kick in and run. There is still 15% battery left in reserve the ICE uses when under heavy demand and will charge it back up to 15% under lighter loads. 2nd you can put it in E-SAVE mode and it will start off in gas mode and you can save your battery until you get to your destination for off roading. 3rd you can run it in straight hybrid mode where the ICE and elec. motor will work together depending load and speed. When in hybrid mode, you can mash the go pedal and it's by far faster than any previous Jeep I have owned when both motors are maxed out. If your battery is charged you can even run the fuel tank dry, the ICE will just stop and the e-motor will kick in and you'll barely notice it. 90% of my driving is less that 25 mi. per trip so it works well for me. I put 5 gal. of gas in it every 3 months just because it will force you to put fresh fuel in it if you go too long. I usually never use all the 5 gal. up so I just go for a drive and burn it out then head for the station for a fresh 5.

I'd trade my left nut for a 70 series tho.

Fuck the government!

We had like three different kinds. One that looked like an 80s SR5, one that was like something from the 90s, which is what you see all over asia, and one that was called a Hilux 1000 or something like that. It looked just like a Tacoma. They are all diesels and all crew cabs, and the floor pans are real shallow...like you're riding in a sled

Me and a buddy had stolen one of those 1000s, it felt pretty swanky with the wood grain trim. Way better ride than our sprinter van that was missing the sliding door, a barn door, and had 2 tires replacedwith mineroller tires.
