What's new

Let's see your latest group 🎯

Got to love the 6mm’s. That little bullet is flying.
I'm looking forward to pushing the 109's. If I can pull off groups like above, I will feel better about spending 950 on a 6GT v's 5k

Not bad for a deer rifle.

This is a 5 shot group from my Tikka T3x in 6.5 Creedmoor. First shot was with can on and zero. Can was removed after each shot, thread protector put on, barrel cooler for 10 minutes on a timer. Rounds all fed from box mag.

Edited to add. Shot order was #4, #3, #1, 2# and #5. I marked them wrong after the fact.

Finished with the tuner break setting on my 7PRC. Had some issues with repeatability with it. Did some reading about tuner backlash. Once I figure that little trick out, I was able to repeat it and squeeze out a nice little bug hole.

I just left the Chrono on for the 5 shots I recorded at setting 7 and working left to right. I'm happy happy happy

Zeroed the new scope on the 6GT. Those 105’s are working for me.

Very nice. I might take mine out Monday morning. Going to fire form 50 pieces of 6.5 PRC brass. May need another pew to swtich

Shot pretty good yesterday. F open 600 yds. A little about this rifle. This is my third season with it and on the same barrel. I also hunt with it.

I think I'm finished with this load at 100 Yards. This was 5 shots with #1 being the CB. Interestingly enough, I'm 10 FPS over Berger's posted velocity for their factory loading of this round. 2960-2970 is where I found a good accuracy node. 2990-3000, it went to shit. Will push this out to 550 on Thursday to confirm. This is also with zero seating depth adjustment and jumping the 156 EOL .114"

Vary impressive es and sd. I’m going to have to step up my game.
Below 7 has been the norm since changing the my loading methods, but below 3 is fregging shocking. If I had a grand, I'd get that auto trickler FX120i set up. That would help a ton.

Granted, this was only 5 shots too. I have 17 left on this brass cycle. I'm curious to see if it holds that tight across that many.

Is this still the 6.5creed? That’s pretty good!

Do you have any experience with 6.5x47 lapua? Iv been thinking of getting one

No, it's a different rifle. 6.5 PRC

I researched the x47 when it first came out and wanted one bad. Never could afford a custom rig at the time and forgot about it. 6.5 Creedmoor was released and haven't really thought about another x47. If you're not a handloader, the 6.5 makes sense.

I'm not sure you gain or loose much with either of you handload.

Just wondering the balls look close to one another. Yep I hand load for everything I got.

How do you like the 6.5 prc vs 6.5creed

Think .30-06 vs .308. With the right powder and barrel, you can push a 140 class bullet about 150-200 FPS faster on the PRC vs Creed. I think I heard the PRC called a 6.5 Creedmoor Magnum and that kinda fits.

Berger has that 156 grain Elite Hunter EOL and I really wanted to try it. You just can't get the speed with it in Creedmoor. You run out of case volume for one as it's a looooong bullet and unless you have a Tikka or build a Creedmoor on a long action, you'll never get them to feed unless you single feed it.

Recoil feels just like a Creedmoor loaded warm in my opinion. Nothing like the '06 vs .308.

Big down side on factory 6.5 PRC's is they build them in a short action. You're limited to about 2.970" COAL to feed in the internal mag. You're handicapping yourself if you handload. I'm jumping that 156 .114". I'm a good 1/4" down past where the shoulder meets the case. This may not be as big of a deal if you subscribe to the 95% case volume theory.

Killing wise, I have yet to take anything with it. Time will tell. Ultimate Reloader killed a bunch of critters in South Africa with a 6.5 Sherman Short (very similar) using this bullet. Most were bang flops. I would assume a bigger faster bullet can't do too much worse than a Creedmoor

I can google it, or surf load books but I'm a bit lazy right now.

Besides being a short action

What's the performance difference between 6.5prc & long action 6.5-06, 6.5-270, 26 nosler 6.5remmag, 264winmag?

🤔, interesting

I don't have any of the rcm cases laying around, but got plenty 06'/270 brass I could reform for 6.5, got 308 & 243 brass too, or lazeout & just buy 260rem brass

Makes me also think, I've got a long action 110 that could be re-barreled to whichever 6.5 round With a 1:8 twist, & dies are easily available off the net.

Course I'm going to have to replenish my playing around funds first since I came across a hellofadeal decent 97' f150 the other day, but that'll give me time to research iforifnot cause that 360bh & 356win still makes me want one.

Very interesting. I think I’ll stick with the CM for now. Well when I get one. I have a 20” heavy fluted barrel in 6.5CM for my AR308 I could swap out
are you feeding them one by one? I didn’t understand if you were or you shortened them.
