What qualifies it as an antique? It was an auction find several years ago.

Antique was the model name, not antique as in old. They usually had better looking wood, lightly engraved and a gold loading gate.

I’d been wanting a 336Y for awhile and ran across this one yesterday. It’s pretty clean but smells exactly like the guy I got from- cig smoke and BO with notes of cat piss.

Gotcha . . . I guess this one might be that model. It has the engraving on both sides and the gold loading gate.

Antiques are also firearms made prior to 1898(?) I think. Not considered firearms by ATF. Can be mailed/shipped right to your door, no 4473, etc.
