We this will make my 2 water leak in my camper this month. First one was the kitchen sink faucet. Second one was the pump for storage water I found today. A little rtv fixed it. I just hoping all the issues happen before winter.

I got a pop up jayco 12' as pay for a mechanic gig last year, after a overall check, it's got a lot of water damage/rot in the base walls, it's going to need rebuilt.

Good thing, the fridge, propane stove, heater & rooftop a/c work fine.

Going to have to tear down to frame & rebuild with 5'6" walls, so it won't be a pop up camper anymore.

Hadn't yet decided if want use 1" square tube stock & weld up walls & roof frame or rip 2x's into 1 5/8" x 1 5/8" "studs".

I do already have plenty of painted .030 4'x8' sheetsteel for outter skin & will rip strips for seams and bend 90s for corner beads.

whether I use square stock or lumber, I'll get whatever thickness styrofoam sheets and insides will use 1/8" 4'x8' wood paneling or tempered hardboard, might even use the 1/16" 4x8 sheets of bath/shower laminate if find cheap enough.

The stove, heater, fridge & a/c will go back in.

it's a project.

Got home last night from work. I heard the AC blower motor squeaking. Yep bearings are going out. After about an hour I heard the compressor running and not the fan. Ordered a new ac blower motor and capacitor. Thank god I have 2 AC units on my camper.

Having had, still own don't use, a $40k Crownline Bowrider, this is good information for me to have.

Was considering purchasing a pull behind at some point in the future. Now not so much.
when I take the family on vacation. Air B&B or hotel. I get the same if not better spots. Best part is, we just pack up suit cases and leave. After owning and living in one for work. I would never own one just for a trip or 2 every year. As long as I’m working on the road. I’ll keep it around and keep putting money into it.

I bought a 5th wheel just to live in when I moved to ID from CO. It was fine when it was just me and one dog. Wife stayed in CO to sell the house. Once the house sold and we all lived in it, not so much. I replaced a water heater. What a PITA that was...

I knew just a ton of guys in my industry, particularly the CWI's, 653 and coating inspection guys that had giant 5th wheel trailers that they lived in on long term projects. Sometimes they only got moved every couple 3 years, and as big as they were I wouldn't want to drag them around to every holiday destination. Hotels gotta make money too, I feel obligated to stay in them a lot.

Those guys were using them as houses on wheels, so it made sense for them. I had been looking at some little ones, 18-25 ft, but the more I look the less I think of the idea. Add in, I don't know shit about them and I don't wanna buy a piece of shit to learn with, I'd buy a newer one, and in 18 months I've have it torn to hell and back from ignorance, and it just doesn't make any sense for me to get in the RV business at this late date in life.

I stayed in one on a job once with a buddy for a month in that month the toilet quit water lines messed up and the a/c hotel or rb&b is a lot better for me
