I’d been wanting a 336Y for awhile and ran across this one yesterday. It’s pretty clean but smells exactly like the guy I got from- cig smoke and BO with notes of cat piss.

Dunk it in kerosene and you won't notice any of that anymore.

Neither. I texted him back and forth on it a few different times and I could only get flip phone photos that looked 20 years old and took 3 days to reply for him.

Haha. Yep. Same guy. I got a pic of the buttstock and a pic of the forearm, both poorly lit and from an odd angle. Received each photo in triplicate as well. The wood looked good enough to make me think the metal would be good enough. Luckily I wasn’t wrong.

I'm glad you got it. It looks like it was worth it. I ended up snagging my unfired Henry from a shooting/cop buddy who was raising funds for a .300 WSM build. I'll get to shoot the WSM and load for it so it was a win win win

I'm glad you got it. It looks like it was worth it. I ended up snagging my unfired Henry from a shooting/cop buddy who was raising funds for a .300 WSM build. I'll get to shoot the WSM and load for it so it was a win win win

I took it apart and scrubbed it down with break free. Still stunk. Hosed it off with gun scrubber. Still stinks. And now my hands smell like that guy’s floor looks.

I piss excellence. Maybe you’re on to something?

I’ll pick some up and try. If it can’t remove the stink, maybe it will cover it up.

On the plus side, it has the best trigger of all my lever actions.

I don’t know if this is safe for the finishes on the rifle or its furniture, but it seems to work pretty well for neutralizing stink on surfaces:
