That 36 yd zero is one of a handful of combat zeros that are out there. Kinda depends on your desired high/low bullet on meat effective range. JEVapa has posted his thoughts on this I’m pretty sure.
If you have a significant astigmatism try and take a look through a prism optic. I picked up a Vortex 3x prism with a green BDC reticle kinda like an ACOG and it’s pretty dang spiffy. It has shake awake to extend the battery life. I keep the illumination low enough that I don’t really notice it until I point it into dark places and the image is razor sharp. The three power is not overwhelming at distances inside the house but it can still function outside and any range you would use a handy rifle.
