My grandpa used to make it,
His was a bit more dry & coarser ground, it appeared similar to wood chips from a chainsaw,
He'd put several handfuls in a flour/cotton sack,
Working or hunting put in cheek like chewing tobacco it hydrated after a bit like jerky
I liked to find wild blackberries when out hunting, take back to camp, put in cup with handful of pemmican & bit of water, crush up and mix a bit,
