Range Day Pic Thread

You have a mil grid reticle and you dialed for 300? You have like 700m worth of reticle to use comfortably without dialing. That includes wind.

And I guess checking the reticle vs dialing isn't needed?

There is absolutely zero reason to dial using a mil grid reticle out to 700m for even beginners. 300m/yds? Definitely no reason. If you're "checking" the reticle against the turret's markings, there's no reason for that either with a high quality scope. That's for Chinese junker scopes.

Zero at 100 on the center crosshair/dot/circle, and hold what your solver or ballistic card says for your cartridge. Dialing is for ballistic turrets like the real Mark 4, or for long range targets out to 950+.

You are exhausting man. Do you troll the Internet to find someone doing something you think is wrong just to point it out?

I'll do me.

Lol you serious? I asked a simple legitimate question. If I wanted to troll you, it would've been done already. Sorry I hurt your feels and didn't clap for your bench picture. If you're gonna post something and it's chumpy, don't get upset when someone makes a comment.

You just don't get it. You are one of the few people here that CAN make this a kick ass place with a ton of knowledge. You choose not too. Clap? Good lord man. I was trying to keep a thread alive for fun.

If you want to make every other post at this place about how you were wronged from OSA, maybe you're at the wrong place.

When I hunt I dial for range and hold off for wind in the reticle. If I’m just shooting several steel targets at KD ranges I’ll use the tree for range and wind.

When hunting, I have been known to get lost in the tree and muck up the shot. By dialing the range I only need to shift left/right in the reticle from center. Could I hold for everything in the reticle when hunting. You bet, but that’s just not my preferred method in that instance.
