It is. Very beefy and feels very positive when you're cranking down. I need a separate shell plate to use my RCBS Ram Prime or I'll have to prime off the top of the press.
One of the biggest factors in upping consistency and dropped ES's has been tossing out the expander ball and finishing off with a mandrel as the last step before powder drop.
Running some .300 PRC I fireformed last weekend over a T2. This gets me .003" NT on a 205 Berger Elite Hunter.
Got another 50 pieces of ADG 6.5 PRC brass in. Using some pulled 147 ELD-M's, H4350 and 210M's from some 6.5 Creedmoor I loaded several years ago. Going to fireform these for my Bergara.
Was looking through boxes in my gear room and found bullets I'd cast from wheel weights for my 45/70 loads.
First is lyman solid 405gr, second is lee 405gr hollow base and third is a ranchdog .425gr gas check.
The lyman has the lee lube on it, the lee & ranchdog haven't.
I don't size them as they don't need it, the marlin cowboy has a fat bore, the .460 rancher does well in, it could probably be smidge better if it was .461.
The lyman & lee are for my old style 45/70 1100fps plinking/hunting loads and the ranchdog is my 1700+fps hunting loads.
One of my hunting buddies was pretty impressed with the performance of those 130 Barnes TTSX's in my Tikka, so he had me work a load for his 20" Bergara. Took 25 rounds to run a ladder and find a node. I put a tight group down at 300 with it and it rang the 6" steel at 550 5/5. 3020-3050 at this length seem to be money in every .308 I've run it in.
@Chazroh gonna light a fire under my ass to finally get my shit set up again. We have some Dillon press shuffling going on, and Phase 1 showed up today...a Square Deal B, will be essentially designated for 38/357. This will essentially be to feed my S&W 686, and Henry X.
Ain't the prettiest press out there, but she works and the price was very right.
I still have the 750 w/ case & bullet feeder for 9mm, "our" 650 will be going to him, and I am getting an upgrade to run 5.56/300blk. That portion is still in works, but mostly because of logistics. Charlie is the Dillon Whisperer LOL
