Tales from the Reloading Room

I'll admit its overkill, but why not? I've been lucky with a few of the Dillons, and the turret press. I'd like to be able to basically set up a machine for each if the primary cartridges I shoot, and just crank out ammo as needed without converting stuff back and forth.

It would be nice to have a 550 set up for each rifle caliber I load and a square deal for each pistol caliber.

But I don't shoot centerfire anywhere near as much as used too due to component prices since a grand or two per year nowadays don't buy much.

So gear I've used for years will have to do.

I might need to do some horse training to get so of those. Got to form brass.
I wouldn't use these for that. I have some pulled ELD-X or SST's for fireforming. These new are over a buck a piece. So far, the pulled TA's are shooting lights out

Let me know how those 122 grain bullets work for you.
I was able to find some Beretta mags for my Tikka that give you about .030" more OAL to work with. I have these loaded very long for the caliber. Just .020" off jam

Out of the donut and plenty of room to go deeper if I need to

I figured, but kwaynem is the only person i remember talking about 270 in this thread and I wouldn’t put it past any ammo manufacturer to change nothing but a name to sell more ammo. If 27-06 was the new headstamp, I just wanted to know which manufacturer to roll my eyes at.

Sounds like something Roosevelt or Hemingway would carry in Africa
Wouldn't think either would use a metric named cartridge unless it was all they had at the time.

iircc old teddy was big on winchester 1895 in 405win & customized springfield 06', being in africa pretty sure he probably carried a holland double in the rage of the turn of the century 450 nitro express.

Pretty sure hemingway also carried a double rifle or two, in whichever caliber nitro express & a customized springfield 06'.

I guess since holland & holland is a brit rifle, they did use a european rifle.
